The Universal (and the ufo from close encounters)
The Universal is a psychedelic space rock band from Boise ID. A band of space bards, telling the tale of and delivering the “shard” that was found floating in a distant deep space asteroid cluster. A multi-dimensional tale is spun throughout the songs, artwork and other planned mediums, like a magical trail of breadcrumbs through the dark and magical forest that is our cosmos. A striving for beauty above all else, and a belief that mankind’s highest purpose is to perpetuate this beauty…being the only known lifeform in all the universe capable of the task of appreciating and observing beauty. We are the observers, The Universal tells the tale woven deep in a fabric laden with hypnosis inducing vibrations. So lay back, relax, get out your crystalline dodecahedral dice and drift away into the weightlessness that beauty carries with it.
The Universal is gearing up for their first full-length release this spring entitled “Everything Is Everywhere” produced by Art Hodge. A short northwest tour is planned for April in support of the release, as well as many special local appearances.
